REAR AIR SUSPENSION
A great construction truck needs high ground clearance. GRAS-G2 rear air suspension gives you 300 millimetres. As well as outstanding stability and driving comfort with any load.

Improved ground clearance
Spring members. Air bellows. Stabilisers. They’ve traditionally sat below the axle, in the line of fire for rocks and stones. Not any more. Our engineers turned the air suspension upside down and placed it on top of the drive axle. The result? You get the ground clearance of leaf suspension with the comfort and efficiency of air suspension.

Shorter overhang
The new suspension design leaves nothing behind the rear axle to interfere with tipping. So you’re now able to tip directly into an asphalt paver.

Better traction, fewer vibrations
Optimised rear axle pressure on every axle means better traction. Further improvements can be made by manually adjusting axle load distribution. Air suspension also sends less vibration into the truck. The resulting comfort and higher average speed boost your productivity (an increase of 5–10 km/h in our tests). And reduced vibration damage means better uptime.

Stabilisers in bogie centre
Improved stabilisers play an important role in the new air suspension. Turned upside down and located centrally between axles, these now convey the forces of the road and the trailer into the stiffest part of the frame to improve roll stability.

Air suspension
Air suspension provides outstanding driving comfort and makes it possible to vary the ground clearance. No part of the suspension falls outside the rear tyre envelope (with 315/80R22.5 tyres). This makes it easier to adapt the chassis for applications such as asphalt layers or tippers.
